After a slow start and bagels and coffee for breakfast again we travelled out to Nippori's Fabric Street. Linda was in heaven! The first shop we looked at had half metre cuts of beautiful Japanese fabrics in every shade for around 250 yen. The shopping basket was filled quick time (with assistance from Madeleine who made some judicious selections). The next stop was a 5 storey building, strangely named Tomato, with each level holding more delights. Even Nick, Michael and Georgia enjoyed looking at all the different levels and in fact Nick spent more on fabric in the end than Linda did, though by volume, Linda won! This afternoon Nick headed off to diaylsis and Linda, Michael and Madeleine wandered down the street to the supermarket (Georgia decided to stay at the hotel and have a sleep) and then onto a park to play with their remote control cars. The park was huge - lawn, swings, a small lake, a river, seats and a jogging track. Mike and Maddie decided to go for a run first, then sit down and feed their faces with the purchases from the supermarket. Whilst playing with their remote control cars a toddler decided he would like one and chased it up the path. After the car chased him back a few times he decided it was safer to go back to dad! The sun was setting fast so we decided to head back to the hotel via the local temple. After relaxing in our rooms for a few hours Linda, Mike, Georgia and Maddie headed down to our favourite tonkatsu restaurant and settled in for a tonkatsu set (crumbed pork fillet, cabbage, rice and miso - delicious). Back to the hotel by 9pm, just in time to welcome Nick home.
