Tonight we wandered down the street from our hotel to Akasaka - pretty well everything was closed but we did find a little soba restaurant where we could have dinner. These little places are sort of fast food Japanese style. You select (and pay for) your dinner from a ticket machine (very cheap) and then give the ticket to the waitress who gives it to the chef and within a few minutes your dinner is served. We had a mix of katsudon (which is a pork cutlet in egg on rice) and udon - which are the thick noodles. Delicious! Jacob is packing up at the moment and is struggling to fit it all in. It will be a bit sad to see them go..............well Jake at least.
